On the 8th of July Paddington Academy dance students took part in a “Big Dance” event in horse guards parade, a national collaboration with the English National Ballet, Dance UK and other talented dancers throughout the UK.  MPs and passers by were invited to watch and learn more about the diverse dance styles on their doorstep! This was also an opportunity to raise awareness of excellence in dance in Westminster with the public and politicians whilst simultaneously drawing attention to the importance of funding for dance within the Arts. Members of the public and professional choreographers watching the show commented on the professionalism and quality of our students’ performances. The dance department were approached by producers for the Sky One program, ‘Got to Dance’ with regards to the students auditioning for the show. The producers commented on originality and variety of the choreography. Dancing on Parliament rounds off a year of excellent and high standard dance performances for Paddington Academy students. The dance and performing arts department are very proud of their success.
