BTEC HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE LEARNING OVERVIEW 2010-2011

AUTUMN TERM 1 6th September-22nd October	AUTUMN TERM 2 1st November-17th December
Final unit, Unit 3: Vocational Work Experience in a Health or Social Care setting The students will go on a one week work placement in a residential care home as part of the course requirement Students are to start assignments based on the placement they attended.	Students are to complete all 5 assignments to at least a pass grade by the end of the term. The assignment tasks reflects on things they learnt from working in a care home, things they didn’t like, review what qualities they had to offer and areas they could improve on.
SPRING TERM 1 5th January-18th February	SPRING TERM 2 28th February-8th April
Unit 1: Communication Students are to go over this unit with the effort to improve their grade from pass to merits or distinctions.	Unit 2: Individual needs Students are to go over this unit with the effort to improve their grade from pass to merits or distinctions
SUMMER TERM 1 25th April-27th May	SUMMER TERM 2 6th June-22nd July
Students are to go over all work done over the two year course and finish any outstanding work and attempt to progress work to a better grade.	All units to be submitted for 6th June for final marking.
