Important Notices

Launch of the new ActiveWestminster Passport

Children and young people aged 0-19 can apply for a new ActiveWestminster Passport from 21st May. The new passport replaces the Youth and Junior Passports and will offer:

·         free swimming

·         other discounts on sport and leisure activities

·         20% off DVD and CD rentals at Westminster libraries.

Young people or their parents/guardian can print an application form from www.westminster.gov.uk/activepassport or pick one up from one of the leisure centres listed below. They just need to fill in their details and take it to their leisure centre along with two forms of ID.

  • Marshall Street Leisure Centre, 15 Marshall Street, W1F 7EL
  • Paddington Recreation Ground, Randolph Avenue, W9 1PD
  • Porchester Centre & Spa, Queensway, W2 5HS
  • Queen Mother Sports Centre, 223 Vauxhall Bridge Road, SW1V 1EL
  • Seymour Leisure Centre, Seymour Place, W1H 5TJ

 

The new ActiveWestminster Passport will be issued there and then.

Youth or Junior Passport members should apply for an ActiveWestminster Passport by 21st November 2011 after which they will no longer be valid.

Proof of ID required to apply for an ActiveWestminster Passport:

1. Proof of age. Applicants must provide one of the following. Originals only, no photocopies:

  • Medical card, birth certificate, passport, child benefit statement including date of birth, Youth or Junior Passport or provisional or full driving licence (picture required)

2. Proof of address: Applicants must provide one of the following. Originals only, no photocopies:

  • Medical card, child benefit statement including address, utility bill dated within the last three months, bank statement dated within the last three months, provisional or full driving licence (picture required), building society book, Youth or Junior Passport

The following sport and leisure facilities in Westminster also accept the card for discounts, with more to follow in the future.

France is currently experiencing a large outbreak of measles with over 3000 cases confirmed this year. Outbreaks have also been reported in countries bordering France and in other parts of Europe. Please take the time to read the letter to all parents with more information.

Important Notice: Uniform

Thank you to all students who did so well with the uniform in the past academic year. We have very high standards being set. All items of uniform excluding ties can be purchased from major retailers including Asda, Marks and Spencer and John Lewis. Parents and carers have the opportunity to purchase academy ties from the academy prior to the start of the new term. The cost of an academy tie is £5.00. Sports and PE Kit The academy does not supply sports kit. These items can be obtained from major retailers as detailed above. Full details relating to uniform standards are included in the Paddington Academy Blue Book. Please remember that if there are any issues with uniform parents will have to be contacted immediately. If there is any doubt about uniform please contact the academy before purchasing an item of clothing.


ATTENTION! IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PARENTS

Any parent requiring an absence for the purpose of a holiday or leave during term-time should make their application in writing at least three weeks prior to the time they wish to take leave. Additionally only one day will be authorised at a time for religious observance. This would include the Islamic Eid in September, as well as religious observance days of the orthodox Christian, Jewish, and other religions. Any further absence would be considered unauthorised and should you decide to take your child/children out of school for this period you may be subject to a Penalty Notice issued by the Local Authority on your return, currently at £50 per child.

Reminder to Parents Punctuality Students are expected in school every day at 8.20 am.
