Academic Support at Key Stage 4
In keeping with the Academy ethos of "The Best in Everyone" dedicated Student Support Mentors strive to ensure that each student in Year 10 and 11 achieve their best academically.
Mr. Twine and Miss. Shortt will provide you with high quality academic support throughout your time in Key Stage 4. We will be there to help you with coursework, BTEC assignments, study skills and revision classes. We will also arrange classes with specialist Maths and English tutors as required. From the start of Year ten right up until your very last GCSE exam we will have a clear view of your academic progress and your current grades.
We will be able to intervene at the earliest opportunity in order to make sure that you are making good progress. Whether you are aiming for a grade A in Maths or trying to climb from a D to a C in English we will help you every step of the way.
In combination with regular intervention classes and in class support, we run a homework club after school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until 4:45pm so there will always be time for you to see us and complete your coursework.
In our view good relationships with parents and carers are vital for good academic progress, that's why we will try to contact home with regular updates about your progress. This can be a meeting at parent's evening, a phone call home, email exchange or simply a postcard in the mail to let you know that your child finished an assignment.
We invite all parents to contact us with any questions or comments about their child's academic progress:
Telephone: 0207 479 3962
Email: sam.shortt@paddington-academy.org.
Students can find us in our study room on the second floor, past students have really enjoyed working with us and we very much hope that you do too
