Elements
-Practice Observational drawing. Possible items to draw: Fruit/veg, vases, flowers, cups, bottles.
- Practice drawing shapes and adding tone to the shapes to make them look 3D.

As term 1a Make a colour wheel using colours found from magazines.
- Research into the artist Henri Matisse.
- Practice drawing objects from around the house and colour them in using complimentary colours.

Archimboldo
- Make a series of drawings of fruit using pencil to show tone and texture.
- Make a series of drawings of fruit and veg using colour pencils/paint.
- Research into the work of Archimboldo.
- Make a copy of a piece of Archimboldo’s artwork.
- Make your own Archimboldo inspired face by using fruit and veg to build up the features. Take a photo of the finished result..
Venetian Masks.- Make a drawing of your own face.
- Research into Venetian design.
- Research into modern day masks.
- Create a series of mask designs based on Venetian design.
Styles & Movements.
- Research into the following art movements:
1. Impressionists.
2. Art Nouveau
3. Fauves.
4. Cubism
5. Surrealists.
6. Abstract Art.
- Find at least 1 artist from each movement and gather information on them.
- Make drawings of each artists work trying to replicate their style
Van Gogh paintings.
- Make a drawing of flowers in a vase.
- Research into the work of Van Gogh.
- Make a landscape drawing using swirls and shapes typical to Van Gogh’s style.

Woven clay frames
- Make a series of rubbings from around the house (inside & outside) and try to imitate the patterns using a pen or pencil.
- Draw trees
- Research into weaving and its origins.
- make a sculpture using materials you have found from outside (Andy Goldsworthy style).
Aboriginal
Art

- Research into Aboriginal art.
- Draw a cartoon picture to symbolise the first few years of your life.
Myths & Legends
- Find a myth or a legend from your childhood.
- Make a series of drawings of different animals. Use pencil to begin wit, then add colour. Think carefully about the proportion of the animal.
- Make a collage of a monster using bits cut out from magazines and newspapers.
Fantasy fish
- Make a collage of found objects which are shiny that could represent the scales of a fish.
- Make drawings of fish using bright colours and patterns to represent the scales.
- Draw other objects from in the sea.
Artist research book.
- Research into different artists. You could look at: Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Van Gogh, Henri Matisse.
- Make copies of their art work trying to replicate their style.
Pop Art
- Make a drawing of your own face looking at the proportion lines.
- Make a drawing of your face trying to show different emotions.
- Research into the work of Roy Lichtenstein. Make a copy of one of his pieces of work.
- Make a drawing of your own face and colour it in using only dots and lines.

Hundertwasser.
- Research into Hundertwasser.
- Make a copy of one of his paintings.
- Design a poster to raise awareness for the environment using the patterns and colours typical to Hundertwasser’s style.
Structures.
- Practice drawing buildings using 1 & 2 point perspective.
- Draw the inside of your room using the correct perspective.
Gaudi Mirror Mosaic.
- Research into the work of Gaudi.
- Make drawings of natural forms (shells, leaves etc). Use your drawings to inspire a series of building designs.
- Make a mosaic style collage using colours from magazines.
As term 2a Culture research and design.
- Research into the artwork from different cultures. You could look at :
African Art, Indian Art, Aboriginal Art, Tiki Style, Chinese, Japanese, Celtic.
Movement, Photography & Type.
- Take a series of photos of your family or friends when they are moving.
- Find as many different type fonts as you can from magazines and newspapers. Cut them out and stick them on a page.
